Applications have been received from seven development companies to build a full service, 1000 room hotel directly across from the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.

It is projected that the project will employ an estimated 2200 construction jobs and will ultimately create about 900 permanent jobs. The hotel project will be built on two parcels of land owned by Massport, located at Summer and D Streets. Submissions to the RFQ issued by Massport and MCCA were received from both local and national developers and hotel companies  including Hilton Marriot, Hyatt, MGM Resorts, Omni and Starwood.

Permitting and design will take place in 2015 and 2016. The hotel is expected to open in 2018.
