Boston Properties has announced it’s intention to start construction of an office tower at 888 Boylston Street later this summer. Doug Linde, President of Boston Properties, said that plans are underway to commence construction on the 17 story, $275 million project which will include over 365,000 square feet of offices and 60,000 square feet of retail spaces. The new complex will be located across from the Apple store, in front of the Prudential building. Natixis Global Asset Management has signed a letter of intent to lease up to 150,000 square feet of the new offices. The last time an office tower was built in the Back Bay was in 2002, when Boston Properties built a 36 story tower at 111 Huntington Avenue.
