Famous Anthony’s Pier 4 Restaurant Soon Moving to New Digs

According to Greg Turner of the Boston Herald, the famous Anthony’s Pier 4 restaurant will soon be moving into new digs. After 13 years of negotiations and permitting, the Athanas family has put their sigs to a pier development deal with New England Development Company to take over the long awaited launching of a 3 building complex which will encompass the 1000 ft. pier.

Construction on the project will begin almost immediately according to Bill Cronin, a V.P. of the Newton firm headed by Stephen Karp. The first phase of the $150M project will be a 21 story luxury apartment tower on Seaport Boulevard, next to the Atlantic Beer Garden. A hotel and condo complex will soon follow. Anthony’s Pier 4 restaurant will continue operations at it’s present location as long as possible and eventually will be re opened in the base of the new hotel.

The apartment tower is set to open in the fall of 2014 and will have 369 diverse units ranging from penthouses to smaller units. The building will have underground parking, club amenities, a restaurant and a second-floor outdoor pool deck.

It is envisioned that soon the project will be in the center of things planned for the burgeoning Seaport District, with numerous restaurants and bars all around it.
